Special Screening - Telling Amy's Story

Dress for Success Worldwide is devoting the month of October to raising a higher level of visibility and awareness towards domestic violence and in support of this, Dress for Success Vancouver will be hosting a special informational and educational event, in partnership with WAVAW – Women Against Violence Against Women, on October 15, 2011.

Join us for the premier of “Telling Amy’s Story” - the PBS documentary that chronicles the life of Amy Homan Magee, a victim of domestic violence.

"By laying bare one woman's story and the many opportunities to alter its outcome, Telling Amy's Story has the power to educate, heal, empower and -- most importantly -- save lives" Huffington Post - December 2010.

After the film, WAVAW experts will share valuable resources and information on the impact of domestic violence in Canada, and will be available to answer questions about this top of mind social issue.

Place: Oakridge Empire Theatres - 650 West 41st Ave (Corner of 41st and Cambie)

Entry by donation ($5.00 suggested) - taken at the door

Net Proceeds (after costs) will benefit Dress for Success Vancouver and Women Against Violence Against Women (WAVAW).
